How Much Are Drum Lessons?

I took a Quick Look online to see what the average cost of Drum Lessons are In Dublin

What is the going Rate for Private Drum Lessons?

I’ve done a little bit of digging around in Dublin for the Average Cost of Drums Lessons for a 1:1 Private, 30 Minute Class. I took a range of Schools who had websites and across 5 Schools offering Drum Lessons in Dublin (including Us) the average works out as €26.65. These are all Private 30 Minute classes and Face 2 Face (Rather than Online).

Are there any drum teachers in Dublin who offer free trial lessons?

Yes! We offer a Free Trial Drum Lesson but you will find that most schools will offer a

free trial class to give the instrument a go. Depending on how busy the school/teacher is you could have a Trial with one teacher but then sign up for classes with another.

What’s The Difference Between In Person, Online Lessons & Pre-Recorded Lessons?

In Person Drum Lessons

In Person Drum Lessons are pretty much what is say’s on the tin! You either attend lessons in a School/Your Teachers Hours or They come to you. If they are attending your house you will need a drumkit. Most Teachers or Schools will have a couple of Drum kits, one for the teacher and one for the students. This isn’t always the way and you can take a lesson on a single kit but sometimes its easier to explain a concept with two kits.

Online Drum Lessons - Live

Live Online Drum Lessons is where you take a class at a specific time with a live instructor. The classes is conducted like an in Person Class but is done virtually via Zoom, FaceTime, Whatsapp or another online platform. Live In Person lessons give you the option to get immediate feedback on your performance. One Drawback to Live Drum Lessons via Video is that, well drums are noisy!

Online Drum Lessons - Prerecorded

An Online Lesson but it’s pre-recorded? Yup, this is another great way to take a lesson. These kinds of lessons are something you will normally find with most Music Schools. You can pay for these Pre-Recorded Lessons with Companies like Drumeo. Here you will watch an instructional video with a great breakdown of the concept which you then play back. With a Platform like Drumeo, it gives you lots of options for instructors, styles & genres.

Are Drums Expensive to Start Learning?

Drums are an expensive instrument but you don’t need to get a full kit straight away! Yes it would be ideal if you have one but there are cheaper alternatives. Here’s a quick article on “What Do You need to get started with Drum Lessons?”. You can get started with a Practice Pad & Some Drums Sticks. Once you have a feel for it you can decide if you want to go ahead and buy a full Drumkit.
